The Tigard Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce Washington Square Mall as the recipient of the 2025 Tigard Chamber Business of the Year.
This award recognizes a Chamber Member business that has made in-depth contributions to the Tigard Community through their business. The winner is active, involved, interested, and enthusiastic about continuing to make Tigard a destination of choice for local business.
This prestigious recognition highlights Washington Square’s exceptional contributions to the Tigard community, its ongoing commitment to economic growth, and its support for local businesses and organizations. While other malls in the Portland Metro region struggle, Washington Square Mall continues to reach full capacity annually.
A cornerstone of Tigard’s business landscape, for over 50 years Washington Square Mall has long been a key driver of commerce and community engagement. As one of Oregon’s premier shopping destinations, the mall has provided a dynamic retail environment with more than 175 retailers and restaurants while also fostering meaningful partnerships with local businesses, non-profits, including Free Geek, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and Schoolhouse Supplies. Washington Square’s Holiday Sharing Tree has been providing gifts for local families in need for 40 years, about 100,000 gifts have been provided through this program. Community initiatives include the annual Lunar New Year event which highlights more than 10 different community schools and arts organizations and attracts thousands of visitors to the mall.

In the past year, Washington Square has expanded its local business outreach by providing opportunities for small retailers to showcase their products, hosting numerous community events, and partnering with organizations to promote workforce development. Their dedication to innovation and customer experience has solidified their role as a major economic contributor in Tigard.
The award will be presented at the Tigard Chamber of Commerce’s annual Shining Stars Community Awards Gala on May 2nd at Embassy Suites Tigard, near Washington Square. The event celebrates the outstanding individuals, businesses, and organizations that make Tigard a vibrant place to live and work.
