Welcome to this week’s edition of What’s Up, Tigard?, your Friday rundown of how the Tigard Chamber has been championing local business and community vitality. From energizing networking events to behind-the-scenes advocacy at City Hall and beyond, we’ve packed a lot into the past few days and we’re excited to share the highlights with you. Grab your favorite drink and settle in for a quick read, and see how the Tigard Chamber has been working for you and the broader Tigard community.
This week’s observance of Veteran’s Day reminds us of the profound gratitude we owe to those who have served our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to protecting others is deeply appreciated. Thank you, Veterans!
Our Leadership Tigard cohort met this week and the class topic was History & Culture Day. The group enjoyed presentations by Tualatin Riverkeepers and the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife. The group also took tours of the John Tigard House Museum and throughout historical areas of Downtown Tigard. We are looking forward to the next class session in December.
We teamed up with the Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce to host a joint After Hours networking event at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Tigard on Wednesday night. It was a lovely evening of conversations and connections, along with a food drive to support our local food banks.
Good Morning Tigard (GMT) was hosted at Cascade Veterinary Referral Center and we had a great crowd! Guests enjoyed tours of the business and of course, lots of networking! We hope to see you at GMT next Thursday morning at Broadway Rose Theatre from 7:30-9:00am…
Our Diversity and Community Engagement Committee met this week to put finishing touches on the Multicultural Harvest & Gratitude Celebration taking place next Wednesday, November 19th from 5:30-7:30pm at U&I Event Center. This special gathering brings our community together to share how different cultures celebrate the holidays from food and music to traditions and stories that make each celebration unique. Come ready to connect, laugh and learn in a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere where everyone belongs!
Excitement is building for our annual Holiday Happy Hour event on Thursday, December 4th from 5:30-7:30pm. The beneficiary has been selected by our ambassador team, Comfort Zone: a program of New Narrative. Be sure to register for this event and help us celebrate the season of giving! If you’re interested in donating to our Silent Auction or Wine Wall, please contact us at the Chamber office.
That wraps up our week, but the momentum doesn’t stop here. If one of these initiatives sparked an idea, a partnership, or a question, let us know! Comment below, reach out to the team, or stop by the Tigard Chamber office on Main Street. And don’t forget to mark your calendar for next week’s events (check the Tigard Chamber Calendar for all the details). Together, we’re building a thriving and resilient Tigard one conversation, one connection, and one bold step at a time.
See you out there!
Your Tigard Chamber Staff
