Ralph and Margie Greene have been selected as the recipients of the 2025 Tigard’s First Citizen Award!
This award recognizes those who have made in-depth, long-term volunteer contributions to the Tigard
community over the years. The winner(s) are active, involved, interested, and enthusiastic about making Tigard a nice place to live, work, and play. These individuals excels in areas of unpaid endeavors of
education, social services, youth work, and community improvement of public services. This
award is given in the spirit of all volunteers who remain unknown. The recipient(s) join the ranks
of those previously honored in continually striving to improve the Tigard Area.
Ralph and Margie Greene have dedicated their lives to serving the Tigard community, spanning
various organizations and initiatives, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to its
betterment for the youth and all those who call Tigard home. They embody these values
through decades of selfless commitment to community service, civic engagement, and
nonprofit support.
Whether volunteering with local schools, advocating for youth and families, or supporting faith-based
and civic initiatives, the Greenes have long been a cornerstone of the Tigard community. Their collaborative spirit and hands-on leadership have helped strengthen countless organizations and touched the lives of residents across generations.

The Greenes will be formally recognized at the 2025 Tigard Shining Stars Community Awards
Gala, where community leaders, friends, and neighbors will gather to celebrate their
remarkable legacy of service, and you can learn all about what they have done to make Tigard
the best place to call home.
This award will be formally presented alongside other Tigard Volunteer and Business Awards at the upcoming Tigard Shining Stars Community Awards Celebration. The event will take place on Friday, May 2nd, from 5:30 pm – 10 pm at the Embassy Suites Washington Square.
