Welcome to this week’s edition of What’s Up, Tigard?, your weekly rundown of how the Tigard Chamber has been championing local business and community vitality. From energizing networking events to behind-the-scenes advocacy at City Hall and beyond, we’ve packed a lot into the past few days and we’re excited to share the highlights with you. Grab your favorite drink and settle in for a quick read, and see how the Tigard Chamber has been working for you and the broader Tigard community.
The holiday season is consistently one of the busiest times of the year and that certainly holds true for our Chamber. Our team has been busy with meetings, networking events, year-end goals and of course, festive fun!
Last week was full of strategic sit downs as Megan joined the City of Tigard for various workshops related to economic development, transient lodging tax and City Council business. She also met with the Tualatin Chamber STEAM Foundation, attended the Tigard CHART Gathering and more. Megan actively works on behalf of the community every day, turning local needs into meaningful action and real results.
Our committees have been hard at work producing some fun holiday events for the community. The Diversity Community Engagement Committee held their Multicultural Harvest & Gratitude Celebration at U&I Event Center last Wednesday where they shared how different cultures celebrate the holidays from food and music to traditions and stories that make each celebration unique. Attendees enjoyed lots of networking as well as karaoke! Keep an eye out for 2026 event announcements in the New Year.
Good Morning Tigard was hosted by Julia Garriott Your Mortgage Gal last week. Our early morning crowd gathered at Broadway Rose Theatre to hear about Julia’s business and network with other members and guests. This is a friendly reminder that there will not be a Good Morning Tigard event this week in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
We ended last week on a high note as we celebrated the Grand Re-Opening of Top Shelf Shoe Repair. This business was a staple in Downtown Tigard for many, many years. They specialize in shoe repair, customization, and restoration. Services include orthopedic modifications, handbag & leather repair, sneaker customization, shoe stretching and more. Be sure to visit them at their new location on 72nd Ave soon!
Small Business Saturday is this weekend! Here at the Tigard Chamber we shop local year-round, but especially on Small Business Saturday. Every purchase you make from a small business makes a BIG difference. Thank you for keeping it local and supporting the people who make Tigard shine!
Have you secured your Holiday Happy Hour tickets yet?! Our annual Ambassador-led event will be held on Thursday, December 4th from 5:30-7:30pm. The beneficiary this year will be Comfort Zone: a program of New Narrative. Be sure to register for this event and help us celebrate the season of giving!
That wraps up our week, but the momentum doesn’t stop here. If one of these initiatives sparked an idea, a partnership, or a question, let us know! Comment below, reach out to the team, or stop by the Tigard Chamber office on Main Street. And don’t forget to mark your calendar for next week’s events (check the Tigard Chamber Calendar for all the details). Together, we’re building a thriving and resilient Tigard one conversation, one connection, and one bold step at a time.
See you out there!
Your Tigard Chamber Staff
