Grab your favorite drink and settle in for a quick read, and see how the Tigard Chamber has been working for you and the broader Tigard community.
As January comes to a close, our team has been fully engaged in launching our 2026 goals and initiatives – making it a strong and productive start to the year!
Ainsley has been hard at work to launch the Tigard Young Professionals. She hosted their 2026 Kickoff event at the new Tap & Table in Tigard where the group met other passionate young professionals who are interested in networking, educational forums, volunteerism, and community connections. This group will gather monthly so check our online calendar for more meetups coming soon!
Last Friday we hosted another Business Listening Session with Senator Neron Misslin at the George Fox University Portland Center. The conversation included several topics chosen by attendees that addressed immigration enforcement activities, legislative priorities ahead of the short session, cultivation of in-state partnerships, strategic workforce development and more! Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the dialogue. We are already looking forward to the next one…stay tuned for details as they become available.
Our weekly Good Morning Tigard (GMT) event is the perfect way to get to know our members, our ambassadors, our staff and our community. The Tigard Police Department hosted last week and shared how the proposed new Police Department and Public Works facility will better meet the needs of our community as well as shared information about the Building a Better Tigard Campaign. Edge One Media hosted GMT this week and informed guests of the services they offer alongside a Q&A to answer any questions people have about the current media landscape. Both events were great networking opportunities! This event is open to members and visitors so mark your calendar to join us.
Show your business some LOVE at our Speed Networking event on February 12th presented by OnPoint Community Credit Union at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Tigard. You will meet dozens of business professionals, expand your reach and referral partners, and walk away with new business opportunities (and plenty of business cards and new contacts!) Get your 60-second pitch ready! Spots are limited so secure your seat here.
Has your middle schooler submitted their application for the 2026 National Civics Bee?! Students in grades 6–8 are invited to write an essay identifying a community challenge, propose a solution, and share how civic principles can help bring it to life. Top essays will advance to the regional and state competitions, with a chance to compete nationally for recognition and prizes – including a $100,000 education savings award for the champion. The application period is open NOW through February 3, 2026. Submit your application here.
Are you hoping to partner with us more in 2026? We want to hear from you! Ainsley is actively working on securing Event and Program sponsors for this year and we have several opportunities available for consideration including Shining Stars, Tigard Farmers Market, Civics Bee and others. Please contact us if you would like to learn more!
That wraps up our week, but the momentum doesn’t stop here. If one of these initiatives sparked an idea, a partnership, or a question, let us know! Comment below, reach out to the team, or stop by the Tigard Chamber office on Main Street. And don’t forget to mark your calendar for next week’s events (check the Tigard Chamber Calendar for all the details). Together, we’re building a thriving and resilient Tigard one conversation, one connection, and one bold step at a time.
See you out there!
Your Tigard Chamber Staff
