What’s Up, Tigard? – Committees, Affinity Groups and Shining Stars

Welcome to this week’s edition of What’s Up, Tigard?, your regular rundown of how the Tigard Chamber has been championing local business and community vitality. From energizing networking events to behind-the-scenes advocacy at City Hall and beyond, we’ve packed a lot into the past few days and we’re excited to share the highlights with you. Grab your favorite drink and settle in for a quick read, and see how the Tigard Chamber has been working for you and the broader Tigard community.

The past two weeks have been filled with impactful meetings, events, and community outreach. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and that spirit was on full display as our committees came together to move Chamber initiatives forward.

Our Ambassador Team met to recap this month’s Speed Networking event and strategize for upcoming weekly GMT events. The Government Affairs and Public Policy Committee gathered to discuss developments from the current short legislative session, while our Diversity and Community Engagement Committee proudly participated in the 2nd Annual Black History Month Market and Celebration at the Practice Facility.

Ainsley recently hosted a New Member Orientation designed to help our newest Chamber members make the most of their investment. She provided a comprehensive overview of the many ways members can get involved – from events and sponsorship opportunities to marketing initiatives and networking programs – ensuring everyone left feeling informed, empowered, and ready to plug in!

She also officially launched the All Things Home Affinity Group with its first meeting at the Chamber offices. The room was filled with enthusiasm as industry professionals connected, shared ideas, and began building relationships with others in their field. The strong turnout made it clear there is excitement around creating a space for collaboration within this industry sector.

We hosted two fantastic Good Morning Tigard networking events, one at Fought & Company and the other at TVF&R. Each gathering offered meaningful connections and valuable insights for our members. At Fought & Company, attendees learned more about the organization’s ESL classes and the impact they’re making in our community. We also celebrated Broadway Rose Theatre as they accepted a donation from our Ambassador Team, funded by the $5 announcement contributions collected throughout 2025. Each year, these contributions are pooled together and awarded to a local nonprofit, reinforcing our commitment to supporting organizations that strengthen our community.

Hall Street Pizza opened their doors for our monthly After Hours event. It was a fun evening of networking, great conversation, and even better food. If you’re searching for a local pizza spot to try, make sure this one is at the top of your list. From their great lunch specials to multiple TVs for catching the big game and a solid selection of local beverages, they’ve got something for everyone.

Award Nominations and Scholarship Applications for our 2026 Shining Stars Community Awards Celebration are due by Friday, March 13! The event will take place on Friday, May 1st and we are so excited to recognize, celebrate and say thank you to the people who work so hard all year long to enhance the Tigard community and truly make Tigard “A Place to Call Home.” We are currently seeking event sponsors and silent auction donations. Contact our office if you would like to get your business involved in the event this year.

That wraps up our week, but the momentum doesn’t stop here. If one of these initiatives sparked an idea, a partnership, or a question, let us know! Comment below, reach out to the team, or stop by the Tigard Chamber office on Main Street. And don’t forget to mark your calendar for next week’s events (check the Tigard Chamber Calendar for all the details). Together, we’re building a thriving and resilient Tigard one conversation, one connection, and one bold step at a time.

See you out there!
