What’s Up, Tigard? – Economic Development, Networking and the Season of Gratitude.

Welcome to this week’s edition of What’s Up, Tigard?, your Friday rundown of how the Tigard Chamber has been championing local business and community vitality. From energizing networking events to behind-the-scenes advocacy at City Hall and beyond, we’ve packed a lot into the past few days and we’re excited to share the highlights with you. Grab your favorite drink and settle in for a quick read, and see how the Tigard Chamber has been working for you and the broader Tigard community.

As we transition out of spooky season into the season of gratitude, we can’t help but think of our collaborative partnership with the City of Tigard. Our team is in constant communication with City Council and various city staff members to ensure we are always working on behalf of our membership and community. Megan attended a Building a Better Tigard campaign meeting early in the week to hear updates and provide feedback for next steps. She also sat down with Acting City Manager Emily Trisch to discuss the future of economic development here in Tigard.

We partnered with the Tigard Police Department to host another Chat with the Chief event at Broadway Rose Theatre Company and we had a great crowd in attendance. Thank you to everyone who submitted questions for Chief McDonald to answer! These events are held in a casual, open forum designed to strengthen relationships between Tigard Police and the business community. Be sure to log your questions for the next event!

On Wednesday, Ainsley participated in the annual Westside Small Business & Workforce Open House. She joined industry partners and local governments sharing resources with small businesses. It was a great chance to meet some Washington County businesses.

Excitement is building for our annual Holiday Happy Hour event on Thursday, December 4th from 5:30-7:30pm. Ainsley did a walkthrough at Al’s Garden Center in Sherwood and our beneficiary has been selected by our ambassador team, Comfort Zone: a program of New Narrative. Be sure to register for this event and help us celebrate the season of giving! If you’re interested in donating to our Silent Auction or Wine Wall, please contact us at the office by Friday, November 14th.

That wraps up our week, but the momentum doesn’t stop here. If one of these initiatives sparked an idea, a partnership, or a question, let us know! Comment below, reach out to the team, or stop by the Tigard Chamber office on Main Street. And don’t forget to mark your calendar for next week’s events (check the Tigard Chamber Calendar for all the details). Together, we’re building a thriving and resilient Tigard one conversation, one connection, and one bold step at a time.

See you out there!
